  1. it looks to be a Milkweed Tussock Moth caterpillar…Euchaetes egle, the milkweed tussock caterpillar or milkweed tiger moth, is a moth in the family Arctiidae. It is a common mid- through late-summer feeder on milkweeds and dogbane.
    As a rule of thumb, any “hairy” caterpillar should not be touched as some (not all) are toxic to the touch. Just good general advice for kids.
